In fact, the schoolgirl seems to have predicted the video-calling platform Zoom – suggesting that all future phone calls will come with a video feed.

She wrote: “In 1969, a telephone was a square box thing with an accessory [sic] on top of it.

“Unfortunately, it didn’t have any names on it, but it was marked ‘Good’ by the teacher, which I think is good.

“I remember when I was 11 years old and I was going to school, everything has changed since then.

“For example, television has changed.”

And continued: “In 1969, it was a square box with buttons on the front. Now it’s a big screen with buttons on the arm of your chair to turn it on and off.

“I was married and worked in a bank, dealing with money. I always wanted to be a bank assistant.

“Well, my husband is coming home from work, but I don’t have tea to prepare like we did in 1969.

“All we have is a piece of gum to eat. You might think we haven’t had enough to eat but you’d be wrong, because this piece of gum is food.

“You chew this gum and you can feel the food deflate. You can taste it too. Then there’s no messy wash.”

“My husband is here. ‘Press the button honey’ I mean push the button for the door to open, you see our door is an electric door.

“Hello dear,” he said to me. “I just had to call my friend on the phone.”

“” You’d better clean yourself up a bit,” I said.

“In 1969, a telephone was a square box thing with an accessory [sic] on top of it.

“But now it’s still a waiter [sic], but you can see who you’re talking to, because there’s a screen where you can see everyone. It’s a bit like a television.

“Really when I think back in those ten years, things have changed a lot.”
