Watch Rory McIlroy sink an incredible bunker shot in 18th place to secure second place at The Masters before a boisterous celebration

RORY MCILROY said goodbye to The Masters in style after an incredible Sunday in Augusta.
The Northern Irish posted a EIGHT under par round of 64 to finish second Scottie Schefflerincluding a stunning birdie on the 18th.
McIlroy went to the final tee without bogeying a hole after shagging the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 8th and 10th, plus an eagle on the 13th.
But the 32-year-old found himself in trouble when his drive shot hit a bunker to the left of the fairway and his approach shot also hit the sand to the right of the green.
From there, it looked like his best case could be to save par with a difficult chip on the green and a putt for par.
No one would have expected him to hole out of the bunker.

But that’s exactly what the four-time major winner did.
McIlroy landed a delicate chip on the green about 30 feet from the pin but used the incline perfectly to his advantage on the 18th.
The ball spun to the left and began a long descent towards the hole, with anticipation building as it neared the goal.
It finally came to mind, sparking wild celebrations from McIlroy, who threw his arms in the air and threw his golf club onto the sand in glee.

That augusta Patrons loved it too, chanting “Rory, Rory, Rory” after the incredible shot helped McIlroy collect a sixth birdie of the round and finish without a bogey.
He finished the week at -7 and still walked on the court as clubhouse manager with Scheffler, but the The American kept his nerve to claim the green jacket to -10 with a final round of 71.
McIlroy, however, was just one shot away from the one-lap course record with an incredible 64 on the final day.
And while he failed to finish a Majors Grand Slam, second place is his best-ever Masters finish.
After his lap, McIlroy said, “You dream of putting yourself in position.

“I wasn’t quite close enough to the lead, I don’t think; Scottie is playing really, really well, but to play as well as I do and finish like that is absolutely incredible.
“This tournament never ceases to amaze. This is the happiest I’ve ever been on a golf course.”
