GARY NEVILLE and Jamie Carragher take aim at Boris Johnson – joking about the parties ahead of Brighton’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
The pair jokingly warned both teams to treat the match like a business event despite the party-like atmosphere Friday Night Football often creates.
Neville and Carragher were of course references Boris’ claims that the supposed May 2020 party in Downing Street is instead a work event.
Neville mentioned above Sports sky: “We get these Friday Night Football games – we were at Brentford last and it was absolutely amazing. We always seem to have a big party.”
Carragher then took over, adding: “Let’s be frank even though this isn’t a party tonight but it’s about work.
“If you talk to Graham Potter, Patrick Vieira and the 22 players on the pitch, they have to know the difference between work and a party.
“And if they get it wrong and think they’re in party mode, they’re in big trouble.”
The pundits’ joke refers to TV duo Ant & Dec, who similarly mocked the Prime Minister after he was accused of organizing lockdown parties.

In an episode of I’m A Celeb presenters warned Boris he was Prime Minister “for now” before making jokes at his own expense.
And after a scene showed campmates with their hair down, Ant said: “They weren’t celebrating. They were clearly not having a party. They categorically denied any accusations that they had a party.”
“And this ‘fictional’ party certainly doesn’t involve cheese and wine or a secret Santa.”
“Prime Minister,” said Dec – before stroking cheekily, saying: “And now.”
And the couple followed the event by poke the government more.
After the celebrities hid the fact that David Ginola hadn’t received a letter from home, Ant said: “So they decided to cover it up.
“If we’ve learned one thing in the last 24 hours it’s that you can’t just ignore covering things up.”
Meanwhile, Neville – who became increasingly politically active – was join the Labor Party.
He said of the decision: “I’ve joined the Labor Party for the last few days. It’s purely because of myself, I want to support Labour.
“I believe we need a progressive Labor Party, but one that doesn’t just look after what will be the dark side of the party, but it has to look to the center.”
