Watch Keegan Bradley’s incredible shot at WGC-Dell

It’s the golf version of threading the needle, and Keegan Bradley couldn’t have done better.

In Thursday’s WGC Matchplay event in Austin, Bradley trailed Adam Scott on the 18th hole 1 in their group game match. Bradley hit a terrible drive to the right and left it behind a whole bunch of trees while Scott was in an ideal position in the fairway.

With nothing to lose, Bradley pushed the ball through the trees and landed it just to the left of the green where the slope pinned it to the surface and just yards away for the birdie. Bradley would make the putt, halving the match with the Australian.

“I’m sure that shot looked really cool on TV,” Golf Channel analyst John Wood said on the show. “I was about 30 yards right behind him and that’s the best three shots I’ve ever seen in my life.”

As Golf.com pointed out, it’s a shot Bradley would likely never have attempted in a stroke play event, as any rebound off a tree would put a double bogey or worse into play. But the former St. John’s star apparently needed a birdie to win the hole and halve the match with Scott in good position.

It completed an impressive comeback for Bradley, who was three down in the match en route to the 15th hole.

Unfortunately for Bradley, who lost his opening game to Jordan Spieth and faces Justin Rose on Friday, he still can’t get out of the group game.
