KARIM BENZEMA shook off his injury worries to score a stunning volley as Real Madrid overcame local rivals Atletico.

The Madrid captain missed his side’s Champions League win midweek after hobbling away against Real Sociedad last Saturday.

But there is no sign of any haste as the 33-year-old captain returns to action for Sunday’s big Madrid derby.

And the striker opened the scoring with a delicate right-footed volley 16 minutes into the clash at the Bernabeu.

The result was TEN consecutive victories for Carlo Ancelotti’s men as they tightened their grip on the top spot in LaLiga.

Ancelotti’s team is currently at the top of the table, eight points ahead of second-placed Sevilla.

Atletico finished 13th in fourth, despite having played one game less than leaders Real.
