One of the common complaints from the left about former President Donald Trump is that he “lack of confidentiality”. Still, for the free women of “The View,” the lack of confidentiality is appropriate for current residents of the White House – and they panic when one of them alludes to it. that’s not okay.
On Tuesday’s show, co-host Lisa Ling said President Joe Biden should “apologise” to “the American people” for calling Fox News White House reporter Peter Doocy a “stupid son of his.” ab ****” on a hot mic Monday.
Ling – not quite a conservative, for her main gig was on CNN – assuming Biden’s hot mic moment was serious enough for him to make amends.
In case you missed it, here’s Uncle Joe scolding Doocy:

“Don’t you think he should apologize to the American people?” Ling slipped in the panel discussion.
Whoopi Goldberg said: “No, I don’t think he should apologize to the American people.
Do you think President Biden should apologize to the country for his words about that reporter?
Yes: 75% (3 votes)
No: 25% (1 Vote)
“Did Trump apologize for calling Jim Acosta a rude, terrible person?” co-host Joy Behar said. “Abby Phillips,” stupid questions, “etc.”
Back in 2018, Trump responded to a query from CNN’s Abby Phillips by saying, “What a stupid question,” adding that she “asked a lot of stupid questions.”
This is probably not the best example for Behar to give, however, given Trump’s response – still unrelated to calling Phillips “ab****’s stupid son,” it’s worth noting. – created a lot anger at the time and made Phillips a righteous figure among libertarians like Joy Behar.
With Acosta, the situation is similar: CNN’s White House correspondent’s popularity, such as it may have been, is based on good relationship with Trump and members of his administration. The face he is now entertaining on CNN small weekend audience on Saturday and Sunday afternoons tells all there is to know about Acosta’s star power right now.
A clip of his will sometimes appears on political Twitter if he appreciates it especially bluster about the Fox News or similar challenges, but this is provided to anyone who actually sees it.
Returning to Biden, however, Ling said, “I just think [Biden] should admit that he is a pitiful example for—”
“No, I’m sorry, that he should admit he’s human,” Goldberg said, cutting her off. “Because that sometimes happens when people ask you endless, stupid questions from a particular place, and sometimes you just lose it for a second.”
“The difference is, he said, ‘Okay, let me call him and apologize for what happened,’” Goldberg continued. “I think, for me, represents what a human being, as president, should be. Yes, an adult. ”
Well, actually Biden didn’t apologize. However, he called Doocy to sort of apologize, and Doocy seems fine with it.
“He said ‘Nothing personal, man,'” said Doocy Fox News. “And we went back and forth, and we were just talking about moving forward, and I made sure to tell him I would always try to ask something different than what everyone is asking. And he said, ‘You have to.’ And that’s a presidential quote, so I’ll keep doing it.”
Meanwhile, back on “The View,” Ling tries to speak again, saying, “I hear you, Whoopi,” but Behar cuts her off before she can speak clearly.
“It shows the difference between Biden and Trump – because Trump, let’s not forget, has said the press is the enemy of the people,” Behar said. “Even Chris Wallace admitted it in 2019. He said ‘I believe President Trump is engaging in the most direct, enduring assault on press freedom in our history. .’ So OK, so ‘stupid SOB,’ he said. It has nothing to do with what Trump said or did.”
“I agree with you, but we can’t keep comparing him to Trump,” Ling said.
“Yes, we can,” Behar replied.
She added that she “will” continue to compare Biden to the former president.
Ling added that Doocy asked about midterms and inflationary, both are “real problems”.
“But that’s a sarcastic question, isn’t it, Lisa?” co-host Sunny Hostin said. “He was like, ‘Is that going to be a debt?’ Of course that is a legal responsibility.”
What’s amazing about this is that “The View” has removed any pretense of having a conservative counterweight on the show. At this point, it can safely be renamed.”ONE See, “because the co-hosts gather very closely together on the left side of the political quadrant.
Ling only asked Biden to apologize to the American people, if he was serious about respecting the media and setting an example, for calling Doocy “ab****’s stupid son.”
The President is not serious, but he does not have to: Joy Behars, the Whoopi Goldbergs and Sunny Hostins of the world would run to protect him whenever something like this happened. They’ll keep comparing Biden to Trump – you know, the guy whose “no-security” antics freaked out a lot of people on “The View” from 2016 to 2020.
Don’t expect them to apply the same standards, although.
