RISING British MMA star Simeon Powell scored a resounding KO win in the Professional Fighters League season opener.
The light heavyweight won a developmental deal afterwards impressive on PFL’s “Challenger Series”.
Just two weeks later, he accepted a short-term fight with American Clinton Williams.
And 23-year-old Powell went neck and neck in the third and final round before closing the show in stunning style.
Coming out of a clinch, Williams did so with his hands down and was left out for the count.
Powell landed a brutal knee right on the button and that was all she wrote as a Brit proved his “Smooth” with name and character.
He said: “I felt like he got lazy and let his arms out and his head was right there.
“Look at that, smooth as you will.”
The PFL spans a regular season and playoffswhere four fights can get you the $1 million prize check.
Fighters in eight different weight classes compete in the two-fight regular season as they battle for a place in the playoffs.
That consists of a two-round quarter-finals and a three-round semi-finals on a night where the winner advances to the championship finals.
Powell has yet to compete in the season but sent a message on the 2021 league opener undercard.
He said: “I’m trying to prove to this company that I’m a serious competitor in the division. I’m young, but I’m hungry.”
