Wardell claims there’s “more to the story” in TSM Valorant’s departure

Former TSM Valorant player Matt ‘Wardell’ Yu claims there is more to the story of why he and the organization split.

TSM shocked fans on March 23 by announcing that they had split from Wardell.

After failing to qualify for Phase 1 of the NA Challengers 2022, TSM said they are looking for “aligned vision and commitment” from all players.

A few days after the news broke, the NA operator claimed the wording of TSM’s tweet “made it look bad” and said there was more going on.

Days after parting ways with the organization, Wardell cited the announcement as claiming it would hurt his brand and assuring fans there was more going on.

“I want to say that the wording makes me look kinda bad,” Yu said of TSM’s tweet. “Unintentionally, but it hurts my brand as a player, so I have to say there’s a little bit more to the story.”

Those details remain unknown, but Wardell added that there was no “bad blood” between him and anyone at TSM.

Wardell, previously one of TSM Valorant’s biggest stars, will leave the NA team.

The org initially cited Wardell’s decision not to move to Texas with the team as the reason for his resignation. However, according to Wardell’s tweet, this does not include the player’s story page.

The Canadian player and TSM fought in Riot’s VCT circles, never making the Masters or earning a chance at champions.

Now TSM will try to find a suitable fifth to help them in VCT Stage 2, but fans will be keeping an eye on Wardell to see if he reveals more about what led to the split. Wardell claims there’s “more to the story” in TSM Valorant’s departure
