DURHAM, NC (WNCN) – Durham Police Department said a man sustained serious injuries in a shootout on US 15-501 Thursday.
The shooting took place just after 4 p.m. between Cornwallis Road and the Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard turnoff.
The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his serious injuries.
One lane of 15-501 South is closed pending a police investigation.
Durham Police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.
