Yoru will get a big rework in Valorant, giving the agent a new life and the ability to pose a big threat in the meta.
Since his release, Yoru has struggled to find his place in Valuable substance meta due to his predictability and other agents can do much more.
However, on February 8th, the Valorant development team announced about upcoming major reworks for the vanishing agent that could make Yoru a factor in the meta.
For experienced players in Apex Legends, Yoru might even start reminding them a bit about Mirage.
Yoru gets a big remake in Valorant
According to a Riot Games Developer BlogYoru will get a big rework in Valorant starting from Episode 4 Act 2.
The rework will target the two main abilities Yoru has: Fake and his last Dimensional rift.
Fakeout will now be “a full clone of Yoru that runs forward and when damaged, explodes and debuffs enemies,” instead of just the directional sound of steps like before.
Additionally, the ability will now face “the direction of the shooter and flash back to their location in a common direction,” according to the developers. Here is a video of what that will look like.
This completely changes Fakeout and will make enemies shoot and look much more attractive, thus giving Yoru a big advantage when peeking at fakes.
His final dimensional rift also received some major changes. They are listed below, according to the developer’s blog:
- Yoru is no longer revealed to the enemy
- Yoru can use all utilities while in Dimensional Drift
- The enemy can hear Yoru’s footsteps
- Myopia is removed
- The resolution delay is slightly increased
- Added cast delay when casting Dimensional Drift, preventing frames from being able to attack when cast.
Throughout all of these changes aimed at enhancing Yoru’s power, the developers are hoping to “bring some fantasy of his stealthy intrusion to life”.
For fans of the stealthy spy, they hope so, as Yoru’s playstyle in almost all ELOs has struggled since he was released.
Ensure and track when these changes go into effect Episode 4 Act 2along with several other balance changes that are likely to come with it, due to the lack of new maps or agents in this Act.
