Valorant Mobile Clone Hyper Front announced by NetEase Games

Update: Riot Games replied to AFK Gaming confirming that Riot knows about Hyper Front and the game has nothing to do with them.

The original text: Riot Games is developing a mobile version of the popular FPS title ‘Valorant’, but it looks like someone might have beaten the developer to market. NetEase Games has released a trailer for the new 5v5 mobile game ‘Hyper Front’, which looks a lot like Valorant. In fact, some of its character designs are all too familiar, and Riot Games might not be happy about that.

Hyper Front may have copied more than Valorant’s aesthetic

Hyper Front resident healer “Elixir” looks like Sage from Valorant but has a fancy hairstyle. The visual design for both characters is amazingly similar. To take things even further, Elixir’s ultimate ability allows her to resurrect a dead teammate, much like Sage.

The designs of Sova, Phoenix, Killjoy, Omen and Sage seem to have been copied for Hyper Front and it doesn’t stop there. The map design and user interface are also quite similar to Valorant. But not everything about Hyper Front is a blatant clone.

The new hero Nemesis, who was introduced in the latest Hyper Front video has similarities with Omen from Valorant. But his ultimate ability is not the same as that of Omen. Instead, he gains a second life if he dies while his ultimate is active, like Phoenix from Valorant.

Hyper Front is like a mixture of designs, abilities, and gameplay elements from Valorant. Previously, Riot Games sued other developers for copyright infringement and Hyper Front was able to attract the attention of the publisher.

AFK Gaming has reached out to both NetEase and Riot Games for clarification on the current situation. Their statement will be added if or when they respond.

When is Valorant Mobile scheduled to release?

Valorant Mobile is the first device after months of leaks and speculations. There is currently no release date, and Riot Games hasn’t updated fans about the mobile title in months. A console version has also been considered by Riot Games but it won’t materialize unless the developers get the balance and player experience right.
