Valkyrae slams fans for sending her and her friends ‘creepy’

YouTube streamer and 100 Thieves co-owner Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter has hit out at fans for her “creepy” posting of her and her male friends, saying it makes her uncomfortable.

Valkyrae is one of the most successful streamers in the world. Not only is she a co-owner and content creator for Nadeshot’s eSports organization 100 Thieves, she’s also been the most watched female streamer on YouTube for several consecutive years.

A May 7th transmission saw the YouTube star snap some mukbang with friends, but the stream was apparently marred by comments viewers made as they watched Hofstetter interact with male acquaintances.

Valkyrae called out the comments shortly after the stream ended, explaining that it made her and her friends “uncomfortable” and equated to “madness.”

“Please stop mailing me with friends,” she said on her alt Twitter Account. “It’s really uncomfortable and scary. Literally EVERY male friend I interact with comes up with random random anonymous accounts that not only make the worst/wildest assumptions, but they get angry when I don’t interact with their “favorite”. Insanity.”

In addition to setting false rumors in motion, the allegations turn venomous when Valkyrae acts in ways inconsistent with viewers’ assumptions.

It’s not the first time Valkyrae has had to urge fans to stop inappropriately sending them with another member of the gaming community. Back in early 2021, she slammed fans for shipping her with Minecraft creator Dream, calling it “terrible.”

We’ve also seen similar controversy with male streamers, most notably when Ninja stated that he would not stream with other women out of respect for his wife. Some stood by the Fortnite star, while others suggested his attitude was sexist.

In the future, we hope fans can just enjoy streamers’ interactions with their friends for what they are.
