South Korean Defense Minister Suh Wook said Thursday that after talks with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the US has committed to maintaining the current level of US troops in South Korea at 28,500.
Suh also said the two sides had made progress in meeting the conditions for transferring control of their combined forces in wartime to South Korea.
