US higher education ‘fights’ COVID with superstitions

Boy, is US higher education full of idiots: Columbia University, affiliated Barnard College, and Pace University, among other schools, all started it must be masked indoors once again.

Columbia-Barnard didn’t remove the mandate until March 14, leaving students with less than a month to breathe freely and are now muzzled until June.

And all because campus administrators consider signaling virtue to be more important than following actual science. They blame an increase COVID cases, although COVID poses no significant risk to their fully vaccinated student bodies.

Also, as noted above, case numbers have not been a useful indicator of the dangers of the coronavirus for at least a year.

and According to data from Johns Hopkins, only 0.001% of 15-24 year olds are at risk of dying from COVID. and Masking does very little to reduce the risk of transmission anyway.

COVID is now endemic, not pandemic — that is We have to learn to live with the associated background risks, just like the flu. It will help that learning process when the supposedly smartest people in America stop relying on superstition to “fight” it.
