Unseen photos of Sharon Tate found in California garage

Never-before-seen photos of a murdered blonde bombshell Sharon Tate were found in a California garage.
A series of snaps of the late actress posing on a towel and rocking a green bikini while lounging in the sun were taken by her roommate’s husband on his front yard in Manhattan Beach, California, in May 1964.
The snaps showed the then 21-year-old looking happy and model-like. Tate was murdered by members of the Charles Manson family just five years later when she was eight months pregnant.
The photos were discovered in 2017 by Ashley Miller Cabrejas, Donald Hagen’s stepdaughter, according to the South West News Service. He was married to the screen star’s roommate.
Tate was friends with Hagen’s first wife, Laurie, whom he married in 1964. Laurie was best friends with Tate as they were both aspiring actresses and models from Tacoma, Washington.

Cabrejas, 46, had been looking for camera equipment to photograph an eclipse when she came across the images.
“They sat in our garage for years until I found them cleaning his stuff,” the West Los Angeles native told SWNS.
She added that the photos were “completely random before she was even famous.” Tate was then just beginning to build her career and went to a large number of auditions.

The Valley of the Dolls icon was married to director Roman Polanski at the time of her death in 1969. She was 26 years old when she was stabbed.
The snaps showed Hagen with many women, including Tate. “Don and Sharon were, I think, what you would consider normal as roommates with her girlfriend and wife-to-be,” Cabrejas said of her stepfather. “I’ve looked through all his pictures. i found out that [he] was quite a womanizer, to say the least.”
The substitute teacher’s stepfather died in 2017 after a battle with dementia after being with her mother for 25 years. He had no biological children and left his entire fortune to Cabrejas.
“That’s why his license plates say DON1, also known as ‘Don Juan.’ Then I started digging and oh boy was he a bad boy but that was the ’60s,” she joked. “He was a playboy and honestly I didn’t really know who he was until he died. All I knew while he was alive was that he loved us and had a past.”
She also stated that during the holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving, she would hear stories about Hagen’s friendship with Tate. However, since she was going through normal teenage angst at the time, she didn’t pay much attention to it.
“I really wish I had asked more questions, but it was difficult because the life he had was a life before my mother,” added Cabrejas.

The educator admitted Hagen “checked the property” where Tate was killed before moving in with his family.
“I know it’s really, really haunted him his entire life,” she said.
“It’s just a really cool piece of LA history, where I live, and quite amazing that these stood in my garage and my family – even remotely – is a part of legendary LA,” continued Cabrejas.
