Universal Orlando requires masks regardless of vaccination status

Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – Universal Orlando Resort has updated its COVID-19 safety policy to require the wearing of masks indoors for all guests and staff, regardless of immunization status.

The policy will go into effect on Friday, December 24, a Universal spokesperson told WFLA.

On May 28, Universal Orlando changed its policy to no longer require fully vaccinated guests to wear masks indoors or outdoors.

The news comes as University of Florida researchers predict that COVID-19 cases reported in the Sunshine State could peak in February with more than 30,000 cases per day from the omicron variant, according to the report. Associated Press.

The report by three UF researchers says the actual number of infections, both symptomatic and asymptomatic, could be significantly higher – up to 150,000 infections per day – under the most likely scenario. is in Florida.
