UFC won’t let Nate Diaz fight Poirier because they don’t want him to face a ‘big name in the final bout of his contract’

The UFC will not let Nate Diaz face Dustin Poirier as he has only one fight left on his contract, it has been confirmed.
Fan favorites agreed to face each other last month, with Poirier This week announced that their long-awaited match was nearing a result.
Diaz, however, recently Claims UFC co ‘doesn’t want’ the fight, much to the disappointment of fans.
And former rival Josh Thompson believes the promotion doesn’t want to risk letting the season five TUF winner land a marquee win before he enters free agency.
In a recent episode of Scales in Podcasts with former reference John McCarthy, he said: “ UFC don’t want to allow him [Nate Diaz] to fight a big name for the final battle of his contract.
“He wants to fight as soon as possible.
“We’ve talked about this so many times, he wants to fight because he wants to end the fight so he can renegotiate or just rush out into boxing to fight someone else, right? is what he wants to do.
“As soon as he comes out publicly and tells them, even privately, that he’s ready to fight, that’s with them.”

Diaz, 36, is winning a bit to mark the final game of his contract and see what hot offers are on the table.
But he insists former interim lightweight champion Poirier does not ‘deserve’ sharing the octagon with him.
On the eve of the new year, he tweeted: “You don’t deserve it if you want to fight, we already have.
“Bring yourself back from the dead you died, DP.”
Diaz hasn’t fought since unanimous decision to lose to Brit Leon Edwards at UFC 263 last June.
Poirier, meanwhile, last competed at UFC 269 against lightweight king Charles Oliveira, whom he suffered defeat in the third round first.
Diamond suggested he could hang up his glovess after his second unsuccessful crack at UFC gold undisputed but has since made a U.
He recently told Teddy Atlas: “I was looking at myself in the mirror, talking to my wife, my boxing coach [Dyah Davis], Mike Brown and they will be behind me if I decide to join this fight.
“I look in the mirror and I just feel good, I want to do it!”
