It’s a royal shame!
As the world bids its final farewell to the late Queen Elizabeth II with a grand funeral fit for a queen, whistleblowers on social media are blasting Her Majesty’s family for refusing to allow Prince Harry to marry his beloved grandmother during to greet her last walk.
“Most annoying thing is that he wasn’t allowed to because Prince Harry wasn’t allowed to wear his uniform allowed to salute his commander-in-chief, Grandma, one last time. Sending you love Harry,” tweeted one ticked off cyber critic.
“Poor Prince Harry,” wrote another Twitter complainer. “My heart breaks for this boy who refuses to give him his uniform or his salute…can’t they fucking let it go…hate to see how.” he is being treated a second-class citizen after all, he went through losing his mother.”
Harry, 38, dressed in a black suit, kept his hands tight at his sides while father King Charles III, Princess Ann, brother Prince William, 40, the Prince of Wales and other royals respectfully raised their right hands to the brim of their military hats , in honor of Her Grace during the state funeral on Monday.
Former Duke of Sussex Harry, who served on two tours of duty in Afghanistan as a forward air controller and pilot in the British Army Air Corps, also did not wear his military uniform like his decorated relatives.
And digital critics were outraged at the disrespect.
“I have one I dont agree is that Prince Harry was not allowed to wear his military uniform to Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. Since he was the only king to complete two tours of Afghanistan, I thought he should be accorded that right,” said an advocate for the estranged dignitary.
“The fact that Prince Harry is not allowed to wear his uniform it’s a shame, are you seriously putting him on par with paedo Andrew?” shouted another keyboard commentator.
At the request of King Charles III. however, Harry donned military attire for the Queen’s vigil at Westminster Hall on Saturday.
The rift between the estranged prince and his majestic ménage deepened in 2020, when he gave up royal duties to relocate to California with his wife Meghan Markle, 41, and their children.
As well as being left out of the family’s final salute to the Queen, Harry and Megan were relegated to the second row at her funeral at Westminster Abbey on Monday.
Unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton, 40, who sat next to their children Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, the estranged royals were forced into corner benches.
They were positioned behind the disgraced Prince Andrew, who was stripped of his royal and military titles due to his association with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Harry and Meghan were also not invited to a state reception for heads of state and foreign royals on Sunday.
Some online watchers find it only fitting that Harry is ostracized by his royal bloodline for his unabashed slamming of the monarchy with Meghan.
“Harry made his choice resign from his duties & whole family and still benefits from it just like his wife. You dragged your family name through the mud! He lost the right to wear the uniform,” argued one Twitter user.
So far, neither Harry nor Meghan has spoken openly about their treatment during the Queen’s services.
