TRISTAN Thompson’s mother and daughter, Maralee Nichols, flaunted her postpartum body in a sweatshirt after clapping her hands in response to claims she is a “gold digger”.
The fitness trainer was accused by critics of wanting to make more money from the basketball star despite receiving up to $40,000 a month in child support.
Maralee shows off her curvaceous body on her Instagram Stories, just weeks after she gave birth to a baby boy of the star couple.
The 31-year-old showed off her toned abs in the selfie mirror wearing a sports bra, leggings and sneakers while working out at the gym.
She covered her face with her phone while turning to the side to look at her body with her brown hair flowing down her back.
She proudly captioned the photo: “6 weeks postpartum”
Earlier this week, Maralee – who recently moved from California to Texas – made a fan statement that the move was motivated by a larger financial payout from Tristan.
According to Reality Blurb, Tristan’s attorneys noted Maralee’s sudden change of residence and stated that she should have filed a paternity lawsuit in Texas, where the child was conceived.
Commenters criticized the mother-of-one on Instagram, saying her new California address was an attempt to get more money from the athlete in court.
One person asked: “Do I smell a golden bag [sic] this? “
A second person questioned her relationship with Tristan, even though he was in a relationship with Khloe Kardashian at the time, to which she replied, “I met him in 2020 at a party party at his house. I didn’t know he was with her. He said he was single.”
She also added that Khloe “never went to any of his parties.”
Amid fan comments, Maralee recently listed her $900k Houston, Texas apartment for sale to make it clear that her move to California is permanent.
After Online Radar Sharing news of the sale on social media, Maralee defended herself against the backlash, writing: “It’s an investment property that I own. Yes, I’m selling it. It was rented out and still live in. I don’t live in it.”
SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN
Tristan’s mother and daughter will have no problem with money as it was reported last week that Cleveland Cavaliers will most likely be asked to pay as much as $40k a month child support.
New York marriage attorney Morghan Leia Richardson, told HollywoodLife Tristan will have to pay until the infant turns 18.
“When considering a alimony award, the court looks at the monthly income of both parents, and the amount of time the child spends with each parent,” the attorney said. “All income, including wages/salaries, tips, commissions, bonuses, unemployment benefits, interest income, dividend income, rental income, insurance payments – it’s all fair game to calculate child support.
“For awards where extremely high-income parties, such as Tristan, the court will put the numbers in the calculator, but also consider a number of other factors.
“An argument for a greater prize would be to ensure that the child has same or similar lifestyle in both houses. “
But just because Tristan has run out of child support, don’t expect your newborn to get a decent amount each month.
In fact, the exact opposite can happen.
According to Morghan: “Usually when a parent has paid support for another child, that amount reduces the disposable income to pay child support later on.
“Because Tristan is paying alimony for other children, that will be a factor in calculating how much alimony he will pay for this child.
“The reports show his income is around $10 million so based on that number, and reports that he is paying $40k a month for his son, when I run the computer, my estimate is 34k dollars per month.”
Maralee birth for Tristan’s child, a boy, on December 1 after months the couple fought in court.
The former fitness coach filed a lawsuit seeking financial support from Canadian sports star.
She claimed in her legal filing that she and Tristan conceived the child on his birthday in March.
In his latest slip, the basketball player stated that relationship with Maralee It was originally a one-night stand.
However, he later admitted in legal documents that he had met her several times to have sex.
There’s a way for Tristan to get rid of overpaying every month: leave the NBA.
Lawyer Morghan said: “Sports players have a limited career, and he has three young children to raise.
“I hope that everyone involved in this is saving money for the kids. If he gets injured or can’t play anymore, he can at some point request a reduction in support.”
