Traffic Delays: Complete closures through 2024 on I-610 West Loop and US-59 Southwest Freeway

At 9 p.m. Friday, TxDOT will close southbound lanes on the connecting ramp from the Southwest Freeway to the West Loop — essentially southbound from downtown Houston to Bellaire — until further notice.

Detour: Exit Fountain View and make a U-turn at Fountain View; Continue to the first available ramp to the main northbound lanes; Continue northbound on the IH-69 main lanes to get onto the connecting ramp to the southbound main lanes of IH-610.

The lockdown is expected to last for the duration of the project through 2024. The closure is required for ramp rebuilding in addition to completing the main lanes of northbound I-610 via US-59.

The southbound Chimney Rock exit will also be closed on Friday, but only for about two months.
