A TORY MP who cut a village off the internet when his car crashed into a telegraph pole has been charged with a series of traffic offences.
Jamie WallisThe 37-year-old is accused of not stopping in his Mercedes after the night-time crash.
The Bridgend MP, from Cowbridge, Glamorgan ValleyHe was also accused of failing to report the accident, driving carelessly and leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position.
police said the alleged incident happened in Llanblethian near Cowbridge in November.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident at 1:10 a.m.
The mast broke, resulting in a multi-day internet outage.
In March, Mr Wallis became the first MP to emerge transgender.
He wrote: “I’m trans. Or more precisely, I want to be.”
He will appear in court next month.
