actor Kirsten Dunst has always expressed great pride to be a part of Sam Raimi Spiderman Trilogy. At one point, the Oscar-nominated star felt it was her Spiderman Films trumped all others, including Holland’s. However, Holland eventually got wind of Dunst’s playful wit and had his own response for the former Mary Jane.
Kirsten Dunst once claimed her Spider-Man movies are the best
Dunst enjoyed her time working with Sam Raimi to bring his Spiderman vision to life. From the start, Dunst chose the film because she felt it was deeper than other films in this genre.
“I really felt like there was a lot more depth to this one, and with Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire already being added to the mix, I knew this movie was going to be more than just a fluffy action hero movie,” Dunst said in a 2002 interview with CNN.
To the Bring it on actorHer expectations were met after seeing Raimi’s finished product for the first time.
“Having seen it I’m really proud to be a part of it and it’s really a great film, it really is. It’s amazing how much work you put in and how quickly it goes by on screen. I was like, ‘We’ve been doing this scene for a month and it’ll be over in a minute,'” she added.
Almost two decades later, Dunst still felt the same kind of pride in her Spiderman movies. So much so that when asked about the MCU’s new Spider-Man, she thought they couldn’t live up to her movies.
“We did the best, so who cares,” she said Marie Claire. “I say, ‘You do whatever you want.’ They only milk that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean?”
How Tom Holland reacted to Kirsten Dunst
Holland would later get wind of Dunst’s remarks about her Spiderman movies. The young actor revealed he took little offense at her comments and expressed pride in his own films.
“You know, she’s entitled to her own opinion and I’m not the one to judge,” Holland said Movie ‘n’ Co UK. “I’m definitely not doing this film for the money. I mean, it’s a job that I think anyone would do regardless of what you get paid for it, you know?”
Holland then claimed that her opinion did not diminish his enjoyment of it Spider-Man: Homecoming.
“All I know is that I had the best time on this movie and I absolutely loved it and if she doesn’t want to see it I don’t care. I don’t like her in any way for what she said and she’s entitled to her own opinion so it’s all cool,” he added.

Though Dunst hadn’t seen the latest Spiderman Movie No way homeshe admitted seeing reactions to it.
“It’s nice that people go to the movies and want to see something that makes their hearts really happy,” Dunst said People. “I saw a reaction video [from a No Way Home screening] that someone sent me and I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ People really needed that now – more than ever.”
She also revealed that she would be more than happy to reprise her role as Mary Jane anywhere down the line in the same universe.
“Of course I would. Of course. I’ve been asked about that a few times. It’s a no-brainer,” she said. “It’s been a big part of my career and my life.”
