Tom Curry named England captain alongside Marcus Smith makes Six Nations debut as team against Scotland announced

MARCUS SMITH will make his Six Nations debut at half-time in England’s Calcutta Cup tie against Scotland.

And Tom Curry will captain Red Rose for the first time as Eddie Jones forced aside with many changes for the opening match of the tournament.

Jones, who is forced to plan without Owen Farrell and replaceable captain Courtney Lawesalso chose Elliot Daly at the center – despite removing the Saracens mainstay from his initial squad.

“As the first game, it’s hugely important for both sides and we’ll both want a winning start,” Jones said.
