Phillip Schofield has claimed that Tom Cruise “caused chaos” at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Sunday (15 May).
That Impossible Mission Star performed at the event, which was filmed as a special for ITV as part of a program celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s 70th jubilee.
Cruise was one of several celebrities to appear on the special and spoke with Schofield and Julie Etchingham, who served as hosts.
During its regular appearance on This morning On Monday (May 16), Schofield recalled the excitement surrounding Cruise’s entry.
“He wreaked absolute havoc in Windsor because he decided to walk to the studio,” Schofield said.
“So obviously the police then had to do some serious crowd control in no time, but he hit everyone.”
However, Schofield was nonetheless effusive in his praise of Cruise, calling it a “class act.”
“When he was conducting our interview, he went downstairs and met everyone, went into rooms to meet people and made proper eye contact,” he said.
“He’s a class.”
Another moment from the ITV special went viral after the show aired, in which the Queen gave a slightly less than enthusiastic reaction to a comment made by Alan Titchmarsh.
