Todd Boehly has been named Chelsea’s preferred bidder despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s late £4billion bid

Tuchel enthusiastic about Lampard meeting
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed he is looking forward to finally meeting Frank Lampard when the Blues take on Everton on Sunday and would like to thank him for the introduction he gave him at Stamford Bridge.
“He sent me a very kind, respectful message after I took over at Chelsea, which meant a lot to me. I was a big fan of him as a player and he is – and remains – a legend in our club,” said Tuchel at his press conference before the weekend.
“We didn’t get a chance to go out for lunch and then he jumped at the chance to take over at Everton. He also took an assistant from us, Joe Edwards, and we weren’t so lucky! I’m kidding.
“We will meet some friendly faces [on Sunday] with Joe and Ashley Cole and Frank who I never met in person.
“We need the points and they badly need the points too. It’s an exciting week for me personally. Everyone tells me about the atmosphere at Goodison Park, how emotional it is and how tough it is to play there.”
