Timothée Chalamet on the advice of Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio has taken Hollywood it-boy Timothée Chalamet under his wing and given him some practical — and PG-rated — career advice: “No hard drugs and no superhero movies.”

Chalamet, 26, shared the cheeky advice of his 47-year-old Don’t Look Up co-star with British Vogue on Thursday. Party boy DiCaprio, who was last seen at a bros night on Tuesday after being spotted with potential new love interest Gigi Hadid this week, has healthy wisdom, Page Six reported, is on the right track. The ‘Revenant’ Oscar winner has been notoriously picky about his film roles.

Chalamet, who earned an Oscar nomination in 2017 for his leading role in the romance drama Call Me By Your Name, chronicles his own career success, catapulting himself into a fan favorite and fashion star, and becoming the first man ever to be featured in print alone is the cover of British Vogue.

Fame has been an occasional challenge for Chalamet, a New Yorker who starred as a teenager in the 2012 drama series Homeland and made the transition to film with Men, Women & Children and Interstellar.

“I had delusional dreams in my early teens to have an acting career in my late teens,” he told British Vogue, explaining that the pandemic has humbled him and perhaps made him feel unprepared for adulthood.

“I hate to say it, but an artist’s dream is to throw anything you want on the wall, you know?” said Chalamet.

“I should have tried to get my adult feet under me a little bit earlier than I did,” he told the magazine. “I really had to, you know, be honest with myself that in life I could ball myself up against the wall like I was throwing everything at me [it] at a young age that miraculously got me to where I am.”

Away from the big screen, Chalamet has established itself as a fashion force with head-turning looks like sequin hoodies and a backless halter top. Notably, Chalamet has yet to officially partner with a designer for a fashion campaign. It seems like DiCaprio, he’s quite strategic about the deals he agrees to.

“When [success] It was very important to me that I didn’t want people – and I really didn’t want to see me – making money,” he told British Vogue.
