Tim Allen may be known for his long comedy career, but his latest joke seems to have been a flop on social media.
On Monday everyone tweeted after President Joe Biden appeared on the CBS show 60 Minutes: “Biden was at 60 minutes. I heard he asked how long the show was.”
Allen officials declined to comment on The Post.
Allen, 69, quickly went viral, with many Twitter users roasting the actor for the jab.
“I think the funniest thing Tim Allen has done in the last 20 years is to assume he’s still relevant in some way,” according to one user joked.
“Tim Allen said he was famous. I heard everyone ask what decade that was,” another wrotemocks the conservative-minded “Home Improvement” actor.
“And that’s why, kids, Tim Allen isn’t the voice of Buzz Lightyear anymore,” according to one person saidreferring to Allen being replaced by Chris Evans for the voice of Buzz in the 2022 film Lightyear.
Copywriter Cliff Schecter also used the recent “Lightyear” film to shoot Allen, tweet: “145 minutes. That’s how long the new Buzz Lightyear movie was. Maybe you saw it?”
“Don’t you hate it when your drug dealer gets political? Just bring that stuff over and go, man,” responded Tyler Conway, author of the Bleacher Report, citing Allen’s two-and-a-half-year sentence in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges.
“This passes for comedy in TrumpWorld,” said one user tweeted.
Others came to Allen’s defense, including a former Republican House candidate in Virginia saying He will always be her “favorite comedian”.
“Imagine not being able to laugh at a joke. All of you in the comments are in serious trouble,” another person said.
“For real? … Twitter is trying to terminate sitcom dad Tim Allen for telling a dad joke? … buttery smooth,” another wrote.
The Santa Clause actor has yet to admit the controversy.
