TikTok rolls out 1080p uploads and more editing features

It’s been a busy day for . Not only the company announced for the proposed algorithm, it roll out A host of editing features will improve the look (and possibly sound) of your videos.

Perhaps the most important update is support for 1080p uploads in certain countries. You’ll be able to share videos at that resolution by enabling the Upload HD setting from the “More options” section of the publishing page.

The app is providing an easy way to improve the overall look and feel of the video. With the new Visual Enhance button, TikTok says it will improve aspects of exposure, low light, and color correction with a single tap. After recording or uploading a video, you can tap the Advanced button on the right panel. If you don’t like the changes, tapping the button again will undo them.

Elsewhere, the Blue Screen effect is available built-in, so you can use GIFs from that platform’s library as the background of your video. There are more music effects and animal voices. TikTok can turn your voice or other sounds into a cat meow, a flute, or a suona (a type of double horn of a Chinese reed). You can try these out by tapping the Voice Effects button on the Edit page.
