Tiffany Haddish has defended Will Smith for beating Chris Rock at the Oscars, calling the moment “beautiful”.
While presenting the award for best documentary at the ceremony on Sunday night (March 27), Rock addressed Pinkett Smith and appeared to mock her shaved head.
“Jada, I love you. GI Jane 2She can’t wait to see you,” the comedian said. Pinkett Smith, who revealed last year that she shaved her head after being diagnosed with alopecia, looked visibly unfazed by the gag.
Smith then took to the stage and slapped Rock in the face before returning to his seat and shouting, “Keep my wife’s name out of your damn mouth.”

“As a woman who was vulnerable, if someone says, ‘Hide my wife’s name, leave my wife alone,’ that’s what your husband is supposed to do, right? protect you.”
She continued, “This meant the world to me. And maybe the world doesn’t like the way it ended, but for me it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen because it made me believe that there are still men out there who love their wives, their wives and take care of them. ”
Haddish then asked: “Would you do that for your wife? Would you say, “Keep my wife’s name out of your damn mother…” Like, yeah! Yes!”

The actor went on to question why Rock didn’t show the Smiths’ joke first since he’s a “friend” of theirs.

After the altercation, Smith won the Academy Award for Best Actor and during his speech apologized to the Academy and his fellow contestants. However, he didn’t apologize to Rock.
Shortly after the altercation, Smith joked on Instagram that “you can’t invite people from Philly anywhere” and was later seen dancing to his own music vanity fair After the party.
