DURHAM, NC (WNCN) – How much are you willing to pay to get to the Final Four? A spokesman for ticketing site StubHub said it will cost more than it has in recent years
Adam Budelli, spokesman for StubHub, said the average Final Four ticket on StubHub Tuesday is just under $1,000, up 80 percent from 2019.
Budelli recommends buying a ticket now if there is a specific area you want to sit in as the lower bowl is in high demand.
“The lower bowl at the Superdome starts at about $2,000, so given the number of tickets and the size of a basketball court, there’s a wide range of prices,” Budelli said.
Budelli said he expects demand for tickets to increase as the game approaches.
If you can’t find the right seat at the right price, he recommends using the price alert tool in the StubHub app. Users can choose which section they want to sit in and what price they are willing to pay, and receive a notification when a seat becomes available.
CBS 17 checked three different ticket sites Tuesday night, and the cheapest tickets we found, including fees, ranged from around $240 to $260.
Tickets for Monday’s title game are also available. We know that a local team – either Duke or UNC-Chapel Hill – will move to the championship.
Budelli said the average price on StubHub for this game is just over $500. Do you want to fix the price now? It might depend on who you chose to go all the way.
“Of course it’s a bit of a gamble again, we’ll have to figure out if Duke was the winner going to the championship game as it’s again his last game these high-end low bowl seats will only be stepping up from now” said Budelli.
So far, 11 percent of buyers are from North Carolina, according to StubHub, more than any other state.
“With the four teams there and of course the history between the two schools in North Carolina, it’s certainly a unique Final Four weekend,” Budelli said.
