THOUSANDS of Britons have just two weeks left to sign up for a £50 supermarket voucher to buy food.
This is part of the Household Assistance Fund to help struggling families cover essential expenses this winter.
The £500m scheme is given to different councils across the UK and they can then decide how the funds will be used.
The cash is expected to assist households who are having difficulty paying for food or bills.
The support available varies from council to council so you will need to check with your local authority about what help is available in your area.
For example, Nottingham City Council is among councils providing additional support to residents this winter.
You can apply for up to two £50 supermarket vouchers – but the deadline for one of them is tonight.
The other program has a January 4 deadline, so there’s still time to get help in the new year.
To apply you should contact the board directly and you will need to enter some details including your email address and mobile number,
You will also need to provide your council’s tax reference number and address.
While this special offer is only available to residents of Nottingham, The Sun has spotted other local governments offering free cash and vouchers to help families.
You will need to contact your own local council to find out what help you may be eligible for.
Each council decides who qualifies and how much to distribute, so you’ll need to check what’s available in your area – you can find out who you are through gov.uk website.

Families in North Yorkshire can get a £125 voucher to help pay for food and essentials
Meanwhile, those living in the East Riding of Yorkshire must apply until Christmas Eve. £285 to help pay for household essentials and bills.
Shropshire Council is also giving households £115 free cash included in the food, energy and water bills
If the Household Assistance Fund is not available in your area, there are other programs that can help.
The welfare assistance program can get up to £1,000 in free cash and vouchers for food, furniture and bills.
You can get reduce council tax bill if you are struggling to pay.
And if you’re having trouble paying your rent, you can sign up discretionary housing payments.
