Things to know about Weddle, the NFL’s wordle game

Move over, Wordle, it’s Weddle’s time to shine.

Considered the NFL version of Wordle, Weddle gives users eight tries to find the football player at the center of the puzzle.

If you guessed a player’s name, their team, division, position, height, age and jersey number will be displayed. Yellow boxes indicate you’re getting close to the answer, while green boxes mean you’re on the money.

“Finally a ‘Wordle’ game I’m good at.” one Twitter user recently quippedwhile another wrote“OK. This is fun. It’s Wordle, but with football players…”

This week, the team behind Weddle announced that a more challenging version of the game is on the horizon.

“After completing the daily Weddle, you will have the opportunity to try Hard Mode. Hard mode includes all positions on both sides of the ball as well as kickers and punters.” Read Wednesday’s Twitter message.

“You have 10 guesses to complete hard mode, as opposed to 8. The position box turns yellow when the player you guessed is playing on the same side of the ball as the correct player. There will be over 2000 possible players, so be ready for a challenge!
