The Yankees’ Joey Gallo preparing for bounce back season

Here are some notable nuggets that happened during the Yankees’ spring training action on Saturday:
Second chance
Joey Gallo hit a long homer with three runs to the right as his strong spring continued with his first Grapefruit League homer. He’s now 4-for-11 in the spring and has made some nice plays down the left flank while trying to get his tough debut in the Bronx through.
Unfit for a king
The Yankees were impressed with Michael King’s performance coming out of the bullpen last season when he had a 2.33 ERA in 38 ²/₃ innings compared to a 5.47 ERA in 24 ²/₃ -innings as a starter. He got the start on Saturday and allowed three runs — and a pair of home runs — in 2 ²/₃ innings.
I noticed
Miguel Andujar reminded fans of what he’s capable of when he homed in the ninth inning against left Andrew Vasquez to go 4-for-12 this spring. He still doesn’t seem to fit into this squad but he still has an option and could be included in a trade.
The schedule for Sunday
Gerrit Cole is expected to make his first Grapefruit League start in the spring when the Yankees host the Pirates at Steinbrenner Field at 1:05 p.m
