The view Co-host Sunny Hostin has apparently apologized to Adam Levine for an alleged affair because he’s a “rock star.”
Levine, 43, made headlines this week after Instagram model Sumner Stroh, 23, claimed she had a year-long affair with the singer and asked that his new baby be named after her.
Stroh shared several screenshots of alleged conversations she had with Levine – who is married to model Behati Prinsloo – to confirm their relationship.
On Tuesday (September 20), the Maroon 5 frontman denied the cheating allegations, writing in a statement that he “didn’t have an affair” but “crossed the line.”
Levine’s personal life became a topic of discussion on the US talk show The viewwith Hostin asking, “Why go on Instagram or social media and post all that stuff?”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg expressed her disinterest in the topic, replying, “I don’t know. That’s why I don’t want to talk about it at all. Why do we have to participate? Why is The view take part? I want to know.”
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin added: “Men in the public eye, with due respect to the Instagram models out there, choose these women whose careers are built around fame and fame and they think they don’t will turn around right away put it out there.”
However, Hostin said she believes “men look for low-hanging fruit” before appearing to defend Levine’s alleged actions.
“It’s not like he said, ‘Meet me at five so we can work it out.’ It wasn’t like that,” she said. “It was an emotional betrayal – I would burn Manny all of them [Emmanuel, Hostin’s husband] clothes for. But this is different.”
She continued, “He made a mistake and he’s a rock star.”
While Levine has been in a relationship with Prinsloo since 2012, the “She Will Be Loved” singer admitted to cheating in his previous relationships in a 2009 interview.
Levine and Prinsloo have been married since 2014. The couple share two daughters, ages four and five, and announced they were expecting their third child together earlier this month.
