The UKRAINIAN military was recently filmed testing the US-made Javelin missile against Russian caged tank armor.
The video, released on Thursday by the Joint Forces Press Service of Ukraine, shows military forces conducting combat drills in a conflict zone with separatists in eastern Ukraine.
The drills took place over a training range, based on General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The target is located about a mile away and appears to be a Cold War turret.
Officials said it was the first time the military had fired on Javelin.
Since 2018, Ukraine – which is trying to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, or Nato – has received American Javelin ammunition and missiles, drawing criticism from Moscow.
Kyiv accused Moscow of sending tens of thousands of troops to prepare for a possible attack, raising fears that a simmering conflict in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region could erupt into war between neighboring countries.
Russia has denied planning any attacks but accused Ukraine and the US of destabilizing behavior.

He also said Russia could increase its troops very quickly and at any time, but it would take more than 24 hours to bring enough troops to the border to launch an invasion.
On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a video call with 20 US senators and members of Congress amid growing tensions with Russia.
“Now, more than ever, it is not words that matter, but actions that determine,” a statement quoted Zelenskyy as saying.
“My goal is to stop the bloodshed in eastern Ukraine. Security in Europe cannot be imagined without ending the war in the Donbas.”
Zelenskyy and lawmakers also talked about applying more punitive pressure on Russia, Washington’s support for Kyiv’s “Euro-Atlantic aspirations” and Ukraine’s prospects for NATO membership.
Russia and Ukraine have been locked in a bitter tug-of-war since Moscow annexed Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula in 2014 and supported them in a separatist insurgency that has left more than 14,000 people dead.
A 2015 peace deal, brokered by France and Germany, ended large-scale conflicts in the Donbas, but efforts to reach a political solution to the conflict have so far failed. .
