The Texas Politics Project at the University of Texas shows that more than 54% of Texans oppose banning all abortions

TEXAS (KTRK) — State lawmakers called out anti-abortion advocates in Texas and said they stand ready to outright ban abortion in the state if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.

But polls show that more than 54% of Texans would be strongly or fairly strongly opposed to banning all abortions.

Researchers at the Texas Politics Project at the University of Texas at Austin say 81% of Texans say they would support abortion if the parents’ lives were in extreme danger.

Texas has had the most restrictive abortion law in the country since September, banning abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy.

You can access the latest surveys on the project’s website.
