The Secret Headliners of Glastonbury 2022: Here’s how to find out more

Harry Styles, Green Day and Elton John are among those rumored to be playing secret sets at Glastonbury.

Just days before the festival’s postponed 50th anniversary, speculation has begun as to who might fill the missing cast spots.

The 2022 schedule already features big names like Paul McCartney, Billie Eilish and Diana Ross, but there’s still a few spots left for some surprise appearances.

Previous secret sets have featured the likes of Lady Gaga, Franz Ferdinand and Pulp.

Word of mouth aside, news of who the TBA cast members are has been known to circulate via the @Secretglasto Twitter account, which claims to notify followers of suspected performances a few hours before they begin.

The account, which has over 37,000 followers at the time of writing, has previously been correct on previous Glastonbury surprises such as The Killers (2017), The Libertines (2015), and Glass Animals (2017).

Who are the most rumored acts for 2022?

It is suspected that the US band Green Day could play. The band have never played the festival before, but did a secret set at Reading Festival back in 2012.

The rock band of ‘American Idiot’ are currently touring the UK but have a gap in their dates in Glastonbury on Sunday (26 June), leaving fans speculating about a possible gig.

Additional fuel was poured on the fire as tour support band Amyl and the Sniffers play the John Peel Stage on Sunday (June 26), right where Green Day have their gap.

Elton John was also a rumored name, with gaps in his 2019 tour dates before the festival was canceled for two straight years due to the pandemic.

Originally a rumored headliner, Styles was not included in the confirmed lineup. However, he still has most of the weekend off between tour dates.
