The person who crashed into the Harris County Police District 2 police officer’s vehicle attempted to run away Saturday night, deputies said

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A person involved in an accident involving a deputy attempted to run away Saturday night, deputies said.

Investigators said a Harris County Precinct 2 police officer’s vehicle was hit on Blackhawk Boulevard around 11:15 p.m. and Sagedowne Lane.

A suspect tried to run from the scene, but the deputy managed to call for backup, according to authorities. A stun gun was then used and the suspect was taken down.

It is not clear if this person was the driver. The deputy who was struck suffered a leg injury and was taken away by ambulance, investigators said.

All suspects were taken into custody.
