Genshin Impact 2.6 to fix Yae Miko?

After months of anticipation, some players were disappointed when Yae Miko was finally added as a playable character in the Gacha RPG. Many were frustrated by the character’s slow attack animation, lack of invincibility frames, and the randomization with which her elemental ability targets enemies.

While HoYoverse hasn’t confirmed if they’ll fix most of the ailments, a new version 2.6 datamine claims her Sesshou Sakuras will be overhauled with the way she attacks NPCs.

celebrity leak’Ubatcha‘ reported the update on Twitter, writing: “[2.6 Beta] yes, change Yaes Sesshou Sakura now prioritizes “Closest” enemies, previously it was “Random”. Below is a video captured by Yukikami_Kris from the 2.6 beta showing this changed behavior.”

In the video clip, the Electro hero’s turrets will now shoot lightning at the enemy closest to the downed totem. The change was immediately praised by fans of the Inazuma Catalyst user.

“It may not be much, but I’m glad they don’t ignore their problems. I’m so happy!” wrote one player. “She’s pinned OMG! I love HoYoverse!!” and “F**king finally! YES BUFFS! Keep it up!” read two comments.

Not everyone was happy with the changes as some users criticized the Chinese developer for focusing on the wrong issues to change with Yae Miko.

“The change she desperately needs is her E so it doesn’t get destroyed every freaking outburst,” one user tweeted. Another agreed, writing: “Still not enough. We need more.” One comment simply said, “You should fix your slow ass attacks! Your friggin’ shot is so slow.”

While Yae Miko isn’t getting any i-frames or a fix to her animation speed, the reported version 2.6 update for turret targeting at least shows that HoYoverse is aware of the community’s feedback.

Only time will tell if the developer decides to make more changes to the 5-star hero. Although the new change is included in the beta, it may not be final. The Genshin Impact leak claims that Yae Miko will be fixed in the v2.6 update
