The evil father who killed the young daughter and left her with ‘appalling’ injuries, including 31 broken ribs, is being jailed

A MONSTER father who killed his 14-week-old daughter and left her with horrific injuries after weeks of abuse has been jailed.

Eleanor Easey suffered 31 broken ribs and five other fractures to her limbs before dying from a catastrophic brain injury.

The baby also had three brain bleeds after being molested by father Christopher Easey, 31.

She was found to be malnourished after being fed custard cream biscuits and lemon cheesecake and was left home alone.

Christopher Easey has now been jailed for 14 years after being acquitted of murder but convicted of manslaughter and neglect.

Eleanor’s mother Carley Easey, 36, has been issued a directive after she was found guilty of neglect.

Norwich Crown Court heard the angry couple trick doctors three times when they noticed bruises on the baby’s face and jaw.

The couple, who met on rural dating site Muddy Matches in 2016, claimed Eleanor’s injuries were the result of an ill-fitting car seat.

This comes after hospital staff raised concerns about protecting Eleanor because Carly was “hiding” her pregnancy.

Carly had suffered a miscarriage before becoming pregnant again, but she “didn’t realize her condition and seemed to deny it.”

The mother was hospitalized in September 2019 after complaining of severe stomach cramps, but she insisted she didn’t think she was pregnant.

Little Eleanor was born via emergency c-section and weighed only 2.57 kg.

Medical professionals noted that Carly was not normally bonding with her baby in the days following her birth at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.

As a result, her case was dubbed a “hidden pregnancy” as she appeared “anxious” and said she was “not ready for a baby”.

Just three months later, Christopher called 999 and told them the baby was having “difficulty breathing.”

Paramedics arrived within minutes and found Eleanor “very pale, flabby, half-open eyes.”

She was taken to the hospital but unfortunately could not be saved and died the next day.

NET OF LIES

Tests revealed the baby had suffered an “appalling catalog of inflicted injuries” and was a “malnourished infant”.

Christopher claimed to police his daughter was injured when he had to do an emergency brake while driving back after dropping his wife off for a shift at a pub at work.

He said he heard a “squeak” from Eleanor as the car slowed from 50 mph to 5 mph.

The father also chatted to paramedics about how he was performing CPR on cows on the way to the hospital, but no one did, so “the baby might have been a little stubborn.”

However, medics determined that she died of “a brain injury incompatible with life” after being subjected to “some form of shaking with an impact to the head.”

Eleanor also displayed “older head and neurological injuries” and was said to have been “dangerously inadequately fed.”

Det Insp Lewis Craske, of the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, said: “My thoughts today, as they have been and always will be during this investigation, are with little Eleanor.

“She was only 14 weeks old when she died but had 31 fractures to her fragile body and three separate bleeds to her brain.

“Eleanor’s parents, the very people who should have protected and loved her above all else, failed her to an unimaginable extent from the moment she was born.

“She was neglected for much if not all of her short life. She deserves so much better.”
