Guardians of the Galaxy Star Dave Bautista’s time as Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to an end. After winding production Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 On May 8, 2022, Bautista confirmed that the film will be the last time he plays Drax.
Dave Bautista is leaving the MCU
According to a report from IndieWire, Bautista bid farewell to Drax and the MCU in an Instagram post. The post also included a picture of Bautista Guardians of the Galaxy Co-stars, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy Writer and director James Gunn.
“I haven’t found the words yet. It ended so suddenly and I was on to my next film before I could process it all. The end of a journey that changed my life,” Bautista added to the Instagram post.
Bautista’s announcement shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to Marvel fans who are paying close attention to the MCU and Bautista’s involvement in future films. Bautista confirmed his time when Drax came to an end in October 2021. That time came sooner than expected.
