The driver couldn’t move for an hour when the cows hit the highway

One of the country’s busiest motorways came to a halt when a herd of cows decided to go for a walk.
Christmas shoppers trying to get to Leeds on the M62 were stopped by the animals.
Motorists have had mixed reactions to holding, with some saying the cows were better off ‘moved’ while others accused them of ‘milking’ the condition.
All in all, it was a major unexpected obstacle that kept the road closed in both directions for almost an hour.
Horror footage captured by 46-year-old Jay McBride shows at least 10 cows strolling down the street after jumping over a barrier just in front of junction 31.
A cow tries to jump over a fence to join the herd before a man in a turtleneck tries his best to herd them away.
But retention wasn’t the only problem drivers on the M62 had over the weekend.
The 107-mile Trans-Pennine Road was hit hard by heavy snowfall during Hurricane Arwen.
It makes the road dangerous for motorists, especially on Sunday night, when temperatures plummet below freezing.
