Potential buyers for Chelsea have reportedly been given extra time to place their final bids for the club.
The additional delay means the sale will be extended by “a small number of days”. Sky news.
One of the four remaining bidders, anonymously, told Sky that he expects US bank The Raine Group to make a final recommendation on the next owners to government ministers in May.
They further claimed that the recommendation was originally intended to be proposed in the week beginning April 18.
And the delays could be bad news for Chelsea’s squad.
If sales continue to rumble, there is uncertainty as to what that would mean Thomas Tuchels Champions League owners.
And should this continue into the summer, there are fears it could lead to a dissolution of the current star-studded squad.
The financial sanctions imposed on Abramovich, coupled with the spate of offers for the club, mean the sales process has been delayed.
Reports from ESPN last month suggested as many 300 parties had expressed their interest when buying the blues.

Sky claims the four remaining bidders were informed on Thursday that the deadline for their final bids has been pushed back to the end of next week.
Premier League bosses will then examine the offers before passing their recommendation to Government ministers.
However, the report adds that the process is expected to take “several weeks” and could be further extended at any time.
US billionaire Todd Boehly is among those on the final shortlist with a chance to take over the club and was Filmed arriving at Stamford Bridge for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid.
Other potential buyers include the controversial Ricketts family, owned by the Chicago Cubs Chelsea fans have protested Acquisition of Abramovich.
Elsewhere, a consortium led by the former Liverpool chairman Sir Martin Broughton and assisted by Seb Coe is also in the race, as is Steve Pagliuca, owner of the American NBA team Boston Celtics.
