The Chicago Blackhawks aren’t even close to a playoff team

The Chicago Blackhawks It’s been a bit hot for a while. It’s a team with top talent that can win a few games. Marc-Andre Fleury also remains one of the best goalkeepers in the National Hockey League, which also helps them steal a game time and time again.

At the end of the week, there were some people talking about how the win would put them right back into the playoffs. That’s true but the reality is Blackhawks to get rid of such a thing would be difficult. It takes 800 or more winning percentages for Chicago to get past all of these teams and get in.

Obviously this team is not a playoff team. In the home and weekend series against the Minnesota Wild, an actual playoff team, you can see the difference between the team going through and the team going to spring golf.

On Friday night, Wild beat the Blackhawks 5-1. Former Blackhawks first-round player Ryan Hartman excelled in the game as he scored two of the team’s five goals. It has been said many times that letting him go is a disaster of an idea and he is still showing why.

People like Ryan Hartman are in the playoffs. The goals are his 17th and 18th of the season, second only to Alex DeBrincat on this Blackhawks team. Many bad mistakes have been made just like this and that’s why the Hawks are so bad now.

One night later, Ryan Hartman failed to score but another problem led to the downfall of Chicago. They were leading 2-0 and 3-2 in the game and couldn’t hold out. The Wild forced it with just over three minutes of regulation before Marcus Foligno scored in stoppage time to complete the comeback.

The Chicago Blackhawks cannot currently become a playoff team.

Playoff teams don’t often beat such leaders. The Hawks had a chance to take down one of the real powerhouses in the Western Conference, but they couldn’t. It’s a real shame when you look at the rankings to see what happened to this once great franchise.

Now, after winning one point out of four at the weekend, they sit exactly where they went into it and that’s seven points. Their focus for the rest of the season should be on acquiring the assets they need for the future while developing some young lads. The future isn’t as bright as people think but that could turn around in a season. The Chicago Blackhawks aren’t even close to a playoff team
