WASHINGTON (AP) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General. Mark Milley The spokesperson said on Monday that she had tested positive for COVID-19 and was showing very mild symptoms. The Marines said their commander, General David Berger, also has COVID-19.

Milley, who has been vaccinated and a booster shot, tested positive on Sunday, spokesman for the Secretary of the Army Colonel Dave Butler said in a statement. Milley has been isolating himself and working remotely from a location where he can perform all of his duties, Butler said.

The Marines said in a statement that Berger had also tested positive, giving no other details except to say that his ability to work was not affected. Butler said.

Milley’s most recent contact with President Joe Biden was on Wednesday at the funeral of General Raymond Odierno, who died of cancer in October. Milley, 63, tested negative a few days before coming into contact with Biden and every day after that through Sunday, the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s statement said.

Earlier this month, the Defense Minister Lloyd Austin said that he was tested positive for COVID-19 and have mild symptoms while isolated at home. Austin, who said he was fully vaccinated and had a booster shot in October, tested negative about a week later.
