The bride-to-be blindfolds the fiancé and leads him to the hilltop to give him a “surprise”…then SLIT his throat

A BRIDE-TO-BE reportedly blindfolded her fiancé on a remote hillside and told him she had a “surprise” for him before cutting his throat.

The bizarre incident took place at a temple in Andhra Pradesh, India, where Viyyapu Pushpa, 22, left her fiancé Addepallu Ram Naidu, 28, to die.

The couple were engaged through an arranged marriage contract between their families and were scheduled to wed on May 29.

Police said the 22-year-old confessed to her crime and said she was trying to get out of the arranged marriage.

According to local reports, the incident happened on April 18 when the couple went to the temple in Amarapuri after having lunch at Naidu’s house.

Pushpa reportedly told him she wanted to introduce him to her friends.

On the way to the hill she stopped and bought something in a shop and told him it was a surprise gift.

When they reached the top of the hill, Pushpa reportedly blindfolded her fiancé with a scarf on the pretense of showing him the gift.

She then allegedly attacked him with a knife and cut his throat.

The man miraculously survived after locals took him to the hospital, where he received 30 stitches.

He later told local media that Pushpa told him she didn’t want to get married when he removed his blindfold.

Sunil Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Andhra Pradesh, said Vice World News: “According to her statement, she didn’t want to marry this guy or anyone else.”

He added that although Pushpa was not pressured into marrying Naidu, she did not share her doubts with her family and did not consider the consequences of her “immature” actions.

In an interview with a local TV station, Naidu said from his hospital bed that his parents arranged the game last year.

Pushpa was charged with attempted murder and is now in custody.

If convicted, she faces ten years in prison.

Now the couple’s parents are blaming each other for the incident.

Kumar added: “His parents say he is innocent while the man’s parents are demanding justice.”

The wedding was cancelled.
