BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Almost 5,000 free home COVID test kits distributed within minutes Tuesdays at 23 Enoch Pratt Free Library locations throughout the City of Baltimore.

Libraries partnered with the City of Baltimore Health Department to distribute up to two test kits per person on Tuesday.
“I wanted to get tested before Christmas because my sister is pregnant,” said Amelia Kaeding, the last person to receive the test kit at the Southeast Anchor Branch. “I just want to make a mistake on the prudent side.”
The Maryland Department of Health reported 6,218 new confirmed COVID cases in the past day, by far the most recorded in a 24-hour period. The state’s 7-day positivity rate is now 11.64%, the highest since June 2020.

Anne Arundel County officials announced Tuesday partner with local businesses to distribute 100,000 free home testing kits. Citing rapid demand, the county has updated the hours and locations for delivery.
“This is raging across our communities at a faster rate than ever before,” said County Administrator Steuart Pittman. “We’re running short of test kits, and the lines at our test centers are very long.”

Maryland Live! Casino and Hotel, 7002 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover. Kits will be distributed between 12pm and 5pm starting Wednesday, December 22 through Friday, December 24, while supplies last. Operations will resume Monday, December 27, with plans to last until Thursday, December 30.
