Team USA No Medals After Day 1 of Beijing Olympic Games – NBC10 Philadelphia

America’s first medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics will have to wait to be held after Team America went without a medal on Day One of the Games in Beijing.

The US had a couple of chances on the podium on Saturday morning. Freestyle skier Nick Page finished fifth in the men’s mogul final and cross-country skier Jessie Diggins finished sixth in the women’s 7.5 km ski event.

Team USA senior men’s skier Nick Page advanced to sixth overall on Saturday, finishing in fifth place overall.

At one point the US medley short-distance relay team would compete in the final of that event, but the team was disqualified for blocking and China advanced to the medal round.

Who won the first medal at the 2022 Olympics?

Norway has taken it first gold medal of the 2022 Winter Olympics in women’s figure skating.

Therese Johaug of Norway won her first Winter Olympics gold medal in women’s figure skating, while Jessie Diggins placed 6th, topping the table for a US skier.

Soon after, Norway added to its gold medal count by winning the medley relay.

Who has the most Olympic medals in 2022?

Norway and Slovenia each tired with two medals after the first 24 hours of competition. Slovenia has one gold and one bronze medal.

China, the Netherlands and Sweden each have one medal – all taking gold on Saturday morning.

When are Team America’s next medal chances?

Skiers Jamie Anderson will have the chance to put America on the podium Saturday night when she competes in the women’s skate final at 8:30 p.m. ET.

If Anderson doesn’t make the top three in her competition, Team America alpine skier Ryan Cochran-Siegle will have a chance to win a medal in the men’s downhill at 10 p.m. Saturday.

The next three medal events will run through Sunday morning. They include men’s cross-country skiing, men’s 5000m speed skating and men’s individual casual hill finals in ski jump.
