Taylor Hawkins: Foo Fighters drummer’s friends question toxicology report

Friends of Taylor Hawkins have cast doubt on the toxicology report released following the death of the late Foo Fighters drummer.

Hawkins died on March 25 while the Foo Fighters were on tour in Colombia. It’s not yet known what caused Hawkins to die, but a toxicology report confirmed his body contained 10 different substances, including marijuana, opioids and antidepressants. It was also reported that a cocaine-like powder was found in his hotel room.

Speak with Rolling StoneTwo of Hawkins’ friends have said they don’t trust the report.

“Taylor has never really played in his life,” said Chad “Yeti” Ward, who was Hawkins’ drum technician from 2005 to 2019.

“He has always played as sober as possible. That was a show day. So if someone says they did drugs that day, that’s about the worst thing you can ever say about them.”

Ward also said that a member of the Foo Fighters crew, who he is still friends with, told him there was no cocaine in Hawkins’ room.

Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron, a close friend of Hawkins’s, added, “There are so many questions about what the hell happened in Bogotá.

“I don’t even know if I can believe the toxicology reports coming out of this country, honestly, because it happened so quickly.”

Elsewhere in the play, Cameron spoke about Hawkins’ state of mind in the weeks leading up to his death.
