Tanglewood shooting: Student shoots, injures classmate at South Carolina middle school, police say

The underage gunman was taken into custody not long after the shooting near Tanglewood Middle School, Lt. Greenville County Sheriff Ryan Flood in a statement. According to an initial statement by the police, he was a student at the school.
There are no other suspects, Flood said.
A police officer at the school called the shooting and called for emergency assistance around 12:30 p.m., and more than 100 deputies rushed to the school, Flood said. Further details were not immediately shared.
The condition of the student who was shot is unknown, Greenville County Schools spokesman Tim Waller said in a statement.
Students from the school would be taken to nearby Brookwood Church where parents could pick them up, Waller said.
Helicopter footage from WYFF-TV showed dozens of officers walking around in front of the school with more than two dozen buses. Some students slowly boarded the buses.
MPs said they had no further information to release.
